During the match Latvia - Portugal last weekend in Riga this Latvian girl entertained the audience (and the players) for seven minutes...

I have watched a excellent Russian movie: "Кавказский пленник" ("Gefangen im Kaukasus"). It is definitaly no movie for fans of special effects pictures. But I am not one of those anyway.

It is a movie about the Russians and Chechens during the Chechen War. And what went wrong between these two people. Why the cannot understand eachother, cannot understand the different cultures, traditions and habits. And that's why that war cannot end. If the people are forced to listen to the other one, to try to understand the other side, then they see, how unnecessary this war is. At both sides normal human beings stand with their equal feelings and thoughts. So, this is, actually, not the war of those people, not in their interest. Well, probably like most wars.

And last not least the excellent actors made that film as outstanding.

Here some other good Russian movies, I like:

+ "Броненосец Потемкин" ("Panzerkreuzer Potemkin")
...and several other movies by Eisenstein like "Александр Невский" ("Alexander Newski")

+ "ЛЕТЯТ ЖУРАВЛИ" ("Die Kraniche ziehen")

+ "СУДЬБА ЧЕЛОВЕКА" ("Ein Menschenschicksal")

+ "УТОМЛЕННЫЕ СОЛНЦЕМ" ("Die Sonne, die uns taeuscht")

+ "ОГОНЬ, ВОДА И... МЕДНЫЕ ТРУБЫ" ("Feuer, Wasser und Posaunen")
I have watched this one in cinema when I was a child of about five or six, and I was very impressed by this movie. I even was very much scared about a few scenes in it (when I was a child!). Just a sample of several other good Russian (Soviet) fairy tale movies.

I've received today the second postcard from Egypt, where my sister's family was on holidays this year. The second one was from my nephew, what was especially pleasant to me. Of course, they have returned already from Egypt for a few weeks.

I like to receive postcards, particularly from abroad...

I just returned from the job-center. I have to be there at least once in six months. But this time it took faster than I thought, although it wasn't even as long the last times.

But I wasn't unhappy about it, because it is always embarrasing to sit in a room with a person, whom I don't have to tell anything and who can't really help me or offer me anything. So, such an interview always becomes a little bit awkward, odd and finally ridiculous.

Well, we will see, what and even if anything will change next year.

I attended in a so-called Monday's Demonstration. About 20 000 people in Berlin and much more in serveral other German cities demanded changes or the abolition of the upcoming changes of the social benefits for jobless people.

Actually, the Monday's Demonstration were the beginning of the end of the socialist system in the former GDR in 1989, of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the fall of the Iron Curtain. But now they come back, because the people are afraid of less or no money next year.

What will happen from January, 1st, 2005 on? A single person, who is unemployed for over one year, get monthly 345 Euro plus the costs for their apartment and for heating. But persons, who has a employed husband or wife, don't get anything anymore.

Well, I would get much more money, but nevertheless I am against these changes of the social system, because there are a lot more regulations included. You have to accept any work now and it can happen, that you have to accept social work for one or two Euro per hour (additionaly to your money, of course). This means for me, that in future the wages will fall in Germany. Therefore I am against it. Next Monday the next demonstration will take part - with me!

I have done a trip to the beautiful city of Dresden, south of Berlin.

First of all, I was there because to watch the first match of my favourite football team in the new season, in the second nation-wide league.

Actually, I hoped to meet an old classmate of mine, who is living there. But, unfortunately, we have missed eachother. Really, really pity! So, we haven't done anything together as it, actually, was planned before.

Instead I returned to Berlin the same day. This was really exhausting, mainly due to the high temperatures. And I am glad I could avoid a sunburn, obviously.

Ah, by the way, my favourite team has won 3-1!
