Happy New Year!
I was celebrating New Year's Eve as usual together with one million people at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. And this time I reached the Parisien Square at Hotel Adlon and after midnight I got right in front of the Gate. Luckily, because the police closed the square right after I reached it, because it was to crowdy there. I watched the fireworks - I like to watch it.
Seems, that good mood is contagious, because I had fun, although I dont have any reason for it, actually. But to see all the happy, laughing, smiling, singing and dancing people tempted me also to smile and even dance. Well, you know my "dancing" (lol)... But no one was paying any attention on it, no matter whether you were dancing alone or not.
The only thing I missed and which would have made that moment perfect would be a girl I could hug and kiss at midnight...
In this connection I remember one of my most beautiful New Year's Eve I ever had. I was on holidays for a few days in Portugal. We spent that time with some acquaintance in a small house with only one room in it, located in a small village just two kilometres away from the sea but even more to the next house or village. We were sitting there just in the light of two or three candles and with only one bottle of champaign for the four of us. We wanted to open it right at midnight, but this went wrong and so we decided to change the time for ten minutes and so celebrated the New Year even ten minutes later. We were running and jumping on the green meadow. No light or noise could be seen or heard. We were far away from any civilization. Right the opposite to the noise of all the rockets and blasters in Berlin.
