I attended in a so-called Monday's Demonstration. About 20 000 people in Berlin and much more in serveral other German cities demanded changes or the abolition of the upcoming changes of the social benefits for jobless people.

Actually, the Monday's Demonstration were the beginning of the end of the socialist system in the former GDR in 1989, of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the fall of the Iron Curtain. But now they come back, because the people are afraid of less or no money next year.

What will happen from January, 1st, 2005 on? A single person, who is unemployed for over one year, get monthly 345 Euro plus the costs for their apartment and for heating. But persons, who has a employed husband or wife, don't get anything anymore.

Well, I would get much more money, but nevertheless I am against these changes of the social system, because there are a lot more regulations included. You have to accept any work now and it can happen, that you have to accept social work for one or two Euro per hour (additionaly to your money, of course). This means for me, that in future the wages will fall in Germany. Therefore I am against it. Next Monday the next demonstration will take part - with me!
