Notes from a Boring Life

Well, I am busy watching the Handball European Championship in Slovenia.
And there was again a excellent movie on TV: "Trainspotting"! When I watched it first in cinema several years ago, I wasn't such a fan of it - but the more I watch it the more I like it.
"I'm cleaning up and I'm moving on, going straight and choosing life. I'm looking forward to it already. I'm going to be just like you:
the job, the family, the fucking big television, the washing machine, the car, the compact disc and electrical tin opener, good health, low cholesterol, dental insurance, mortgage, starter home, leisurewear, luggage, three-piece suite, DIY, game shows, junk food, children, walks in the park, nine to five, good at golf, washing the car, choice of sweaters, family Christmas, indexed pension, tax exemption, clearing the gutters, getting by, looking ahead, to the day you die."

It was so boring at home, so I decided to go to cinema. And even twice! At 3 and at half past 10.
First I watched a Spanish movie - "Los lunes al sol" what means translated anyhing like "Mondays in the sun". It was a movie about unemployed workers in North Spain. How they try to manage their lifes without work, about their self-conciousness in unemployment and also about problems in marriage, which occur, when men sitting at home doing nothing. Is it true, that women, who are quite attractive, leave the men then? Well, all in all not a funny topic and therefore not a funny movie. But that's the life goes.
At night "Mystic River". He got two actor's Golden Globes last Sunday, so I was curious to watch it. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed about it. And I have seen Sean Penn or Tim Robbins in more amazing roles ("Dead Man Walking", "The Player") More or less just a simple criminal story. Maybe, it condemns the self-justice, which the Americans (and not only them) tend to justify, if they think they are right. But not always is everything as clear as it might be.

Well, I don't know right exactly what I have done all day. Surely not very exciting one.
But at evening there was another favourite movie: "Leon"! Seems, this week is full of good movies, the next one already on Wednesday!

In the night from Sunday to Monday I watched live the Golden Globes Show. Wow, it has lasted till 5 am. Well, a little too many commercials and some awards for actors/actresses and movies I don't know (particularly from TV-productions)! The big winner next to "Lost In Translation" was "The Lord Of The Rings - The Return Of The King" - four Globes for it: Best drama movie, best drama director, best score, best song.
Well, luckily I haven't to get up early the next morning! ;-)

At the evening I watched a very good movie on TV: "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" by Ang Lee. I was again as impressed it as when I have watched it last in cinema. Actually I don't like such Kung-Fu-Movies with flying, fighting people - but this one is really different. I don't know exactly why, maybe because of the heart-touching love-story in it, maybe additionaly because of the special effects in it.
At any case, you cannot do anything wrong when watching a movie by Ang Lee, although they are always quite different genres. But I also liked "Sense And Sensibility" or "The Ice Storm".
After it I watched "The Untouchables", but that movie wasn't as good as I thought. And then the Golden Globes Show began...

About loneliness
When I was a little boy, I always said I never will anything to do with girls or even want to become married. My parents always laughed on it and assured me, this will change for certain in the future. Well, I was right with it to some extent till the present day, but I am absolutely not happy about it. I wished I had been wrong!
Everyone who says he better wants to live alone, doesn't know what this really means, in my opinion. Real loneliness! He doesn't know how sad it is to wake up alone, to eat alone, to go out alone, to fall asleep alone...every day!
In my opinion human beings are not created to be alone. You need someone to share your life with. Someone who is listening to your problems and who you can listening to his problems. Who you can discuss with, argue and laugh with.
Long time I have really thought that I don't need anybody. I was satisfied with my life as I lived it. There are, of course, some advantages to live alone - no doubt! You are free to do and not to do what you want. You don't have to ask, wait for or care about anyone else. But this kind of freedom can become boring at some day - even that, you might miss someday.
And I don't mean you need someone for sexual reasons at the first place. This would be just an addition, but not in the least the most important thing. I have been rather satisfied with my "handjob" so far and I still am. As Woody Allen said in one of his movies: "Masturbation is making love with the person I love most." ;-) But what about to feel her lips on yours, to carress her hips tenderly with your fingertips, to breathe the smell of her hair? That only can be paradise! I cannot imagine that someone can live or survive without it.
I think, to reach real hapiness in life you have to have a partner, who you can share your hapiness with! Without a beloved partner life is just as half as good, as half as worth living it!

"Help!!! Mother is in town!" ;-)
I will visit her tonight at my sister's, where she stays two, three days. Well, why not?... I have not seen and visited her, my sister and her husband for a rather long, yet. We will see, if there will be any news - I doubt it...
