About life

The human life is rather short. Theoretically I could be over any second and any moment.

And because it is so short, you have to experience as much as u can, in my point of view. At least you can try to see as much as you can of the beauty of the world - I mean the country and landscapes and, of course, the beauty of people. And you can try to learn as much as you can.

In my opinion, in life only emotions, feelings and memories are what really count at the end. It doesn't count, what you have owned and bought in your life. It is poor, when you only can say at the end, you had a car, you had some jewellery or you had much money on your bank account. But you haven't seen, for example, Michelangelo's "David" or you haven't travelled to the beautiful landscape of Toscany or you haven't read Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" and you haven't looked in the beautiful bright honest eyes of a best friend. The other things are only stuff, worthless stuff.

I think, human life is rather sense- and useless - the only thing worth living it is love and to love, in my humble opinion.

And, by the way, ..."Happy Birthday, Jan!"

P.S. And because this life is so short, I also think, you have to risk sometimes something, to make life more exciting. You have sometimes also to do anything strange, anything crazy, which might look a bit unusual at the first moment, but those "adventures" make the life exciting and not so boring. Some chances and opportunities never come back, and later in your life you deeply regret, that you have missed those opportunities. Actually, you cannot do anything wrong.

Last night I have learnt two things:
1. I am totally unhappy,
2. I am obviously not able to have a girlfriend.

So, it seems, it was once again one of my worse days in life.

And probably I have lost a friend of mine. Well, but if this is true, this was even one of my worst days ever.

60th anniversary of the liberation of concentration camp in Auschwitz

Auschwitz - a name, why I cannot be proud to be German. And there are many other ones, as Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, Chelmno, Babij Jar, Leningrad, Oradour, Coventry, Lidice...

Well, actually, I am glad to be German, I like this country quite well, its culture and landscape. But when it comes to the two World Wars, then I only can feel ashamed, especially when it comes to the atrocities and the inhumanity, which was done by German people, by our ancestors. And I, like any other human being, also cannot understand, how this could have done, how this could have happened.

I have visited two times in my life a concentration camp. It was the women's concentration camp Ravensbruck north of Berlin and the concentration camp Buchenwald near Weimar.

The first time I was still really young, so I cannot really remember it. I was too young to know and understand, what this all has really meant. I only can remember, that we were young boys and have met there some Soviet soldiers and we asked them for some medals. I have learnt then my first Russian words: "Kamerad, znachki!" And we really got some medals from them. Today I am a bit ashamed of that, because these soldiers likely got some troubles afterwards in their barracks with their officers.

But the second visit to a concentration camp in Buchenwald I remember better, because I was about 14. It was winter and a survivor of that camp guided us through that today's memorial place. When I came out of one of the houses (I think it was some medical house), I felt that I became really sick and weak. I heard my blood pumping in my ears, and I had to go beside immediately, otherwise, I think, I had collapsed. I was a bit surprised, that this had this reaction on me, because I thought I had been stronger, but this was not right, obviously.

Today, I really would like to visit Auschwitz, because I am very interested in it, but I also have some doubts and fears, that I couldn't really deal with it, when I would be at that place of the biggest crimes in history, done not very long ago by German people.

I was today at two photo-exhibitions with photographs about Latvia. It was not as bad. I am just wondering, why the photographers always seem to dislike the capital, but more to like the land of Latvia and Jurmala, Jurmala and Jurmala...

At the weekend I was visited by an old friend of mine. Unfortunately he arrived just at Saturday midnight and had to leave already Sunday morning. We haven't seen eachother for more than a year now.

We know us since we were about ten years, I guess. We both attended school together. We had to talk a lot and so we were talking till after 4 am. And after we went to sleep I only could fall asleep very hard, because he was snoring very loud...

On Sunday night I watched then this year's Golden-Globes-Award-Show till 5 am, because I couldnt sleep anyway. At the beginning the Golden Globes for both male and female supporting act were won by the movie "Closer", and I already thought this year the Golden Globes would become a "Closer"-festival - but I was wrong, because these were all awards for that movie. By the way, Natalie Portman look less attractive with longer hair.

But all in all, this year the Golden Globes were more unpredictable than last year and so it was more exciting to watch. But, unfortunately, many of the nominated movies weren't shown here so far, so I haven't known too many of them.

Is it pervert, when somebody likes to look at a female body?

Is it a crime to admire female eyes, lips, cheeks, forehead, chin, ears, hair, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, breasts, nipples, tummy, belly-button, hips, bottom, the genitals, legs, knees, and to be attracted by them?

Isn't it just natural to at least try to see all beauty of the world?

I cannot see, what I should be ashamed for!
